BA vs. Jenks football moved up to Thursday night
Decision made to avoid threat of lightning in forecast for Friday
Broken Arrow Public Schools announced today its home football game against Jenks has been moved up to Thursday night to avoid potential weather delays and complications that are in the forecast on Friday. Kickoff will remain at 7 p.m. at Broken Arrow Memorial Stadium.
“The safety of our student-athletes is our top priority,” Executive Director of Athletics Steve Dunn said. “We made this decision in conjunction with administrators and coaches at Jenks, as well as meteorologists from our local media partners. We are aware that moving the game may create some logistical challenges but avoiding the risk of weather delays gives our student-athletes the best opportunity to compete in such a significant game without interruption.”
No. 1 Broken Arrow and No. 2 Jenks are both 3-0 on the season and considered to be the favorites for the district championship. Both teams are coming off a bye week and last played on Sept. 7.
