Proficiency Based Promotion is a process awarding credit for students’ knowledge in the core curriculum areas, including reading, language arts, math, science, social studies and foreign languages, through an assessment process. It is available to students entering grades 1-12.
Proficiency Based Testing for the 2018-2019 school year is scheduled for June 5, 6, 7 and 11 at the Education Service Center located at 701 S. Main St., Broken Arrow, OK. Students will be assigned to a specific date, once the application is received, according to their grade level.
Parents/guardians will need to complete and return an application to their child’s counselor by Friday, May 11 in order for their student(s) to test. An informational letter including time and test specifics for each student will be mailed out approximately one week prior to the test date. Any application turned in after the May 11 date will be tested in July.
Students demonstrating proficiency will have the opportunity to advance to the next level of study. Failure to demonstrate proficiency will not be noted on the student’s transcript.
