City of Broken Arrow: Hiring City Clerk

The City of Broken Arrow is on the lookout for a new City Clerk! This position is responsible for the maintenance and oversight of official city records. The full-time position is based at City Hall.

 Major Duties:
  • Serves as Municipal Clerk of the City Council and BAMA; attends all meetings of these and various other boards and commissions
  • Directs the preparation and posting of notices and agendas for all public meetings; maintains and ensures the accuracy of official records of all proceedings
  • Reviews statutes and requirements to ensure the accuracy of city records; provides guidance to staff in the formation of agenda items
  • Coordinates Broken Arrow’s portion of municipal elections, including follow-up and preservation of all results
  • Oversees the City Clerk’s Office
  • Hires, trains, assigns, schedules, directs, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines personnel
  • Serves as Municipal Court Clerk; oversees the Office of the Court Clerk
  • Maintains the official seal of the city and its boards and authorities; signs and or attests official documents and plats
  • Notifies the appointing authority of impending expiration of terms of office of all elected or appointed members of any city board or commission
  • Researches and directs preparation of agenda items, including fact sheets and proclamations
  • Develops and administers the budget for the City Clerk’s Office and the Court Clerk’s Office; approves all budget requests and purchases for the division
  • Oversees city archives and vault; directs and ensures the filing and tracking of all documents with outside agencies
  • Directs research and responds to open records requests and internal and external inquiries
  • Reviews training, conference, and seminar information materials; approves and directs training scheduling for the division
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
