Tax season is upon us! The IRS will start accepting returns on January 29th.You must have your taxes submitted (tax forms post marked or electronically submitted) by April 17th. Companies are required to have W2s and 1099s post-marked on or before January 31, 2018.

Listed below are some free options either in person or on the internet.
Internet Services: For a complete listing to go to irs.gov and click “Free File”
• TurboTax – Free if your adjusted gross income* is $33,000 or less or you are eligible for the Earned Income Tax
• TaxAct Free File – Free if your adjusted gross income* is $53,000 or less and your age is 56 or younger or you
are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit**.
• H&R Block’s Free File – Free if your adjusted gross income* is $66,000 or less and your age is between 17 and 50.
• TaxSlayer – Free if your adjusted gross income* is $66,000 or less and your age is 52 or younger
IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA): VITA is a free service that has IRS certi ed volunteers available to assist eligible individuals or families with completing and e- ling their returns. For a complete listing of VITA locations go to www.211ok.org and type “taxes” in the search bar.
What to bring:
• Driver’s license (or state issued ID), • Social security card,
• Last year’s taxes and
• All 2017 tax forms.
VITA representatives are unable to complete a return without verifying your identity. So, make sure you bring the proper IDs!
Northeastern State University – Broken Arrow: Individuals with low-to-moderate income (income less than $60,000) are eligible.An appointment is required. Call Community Action Resource and Development (CARD) at 918-486- 2471 to schedule an appointment.
United Way – available to individuals or families earning a household income of under $54,000 a year. Tax sites will be open early February and run through April 17, 2018. The following is a list of United Way tax sites:

AARP Foundation Tax Aide offers free, individualized tax preparation for low-to moderate-income taxpayers — especially those 50 and older. Find a location near you at https://www.aarp.org/money/taxes/aarp_taxaide/.
Central Park Community Center, 1500 S. Main: Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. No appointment necessary.
